Abstract: In this paper we use statistical data and statistical confidence interval to derive level 1 - alpha fuzzy numbers, 0 < <alpha> < 1 and get a fuzzy linear programming problem. We use two statistical confidence intervals to derive level (1 - <beta>, 1 - alpha) interval-valued fuzzy numbers, 0 < <alpha> < <beta> < 1, and get another fuzzy linear programming problem. We will give examples and solve them. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
