摘要: | The first purpose of this study was to monitor the stress and recovery of Ho Chi Minh City high school basketball team (includes males and females) throughout three periods of competition phase: 2 weeks before the competition (time point 1), 10 days of competition (time point 2), and 1 week after competition (time point 3). Twenty seven athletes (15 males and 12 females) of Ho Chi Minh City high school basketball team aged from 16 – 18 years old participated in this study. All of the participants completed the Recovery – Stress Questionnaire for Sport (RESTQ52-Sport version). Friedman Test was used to consider whether the changes of RESTQ-52 Sport (include General Stress, Sport - Specific Stress, Total Stress, General Recovery, Sport – Specific Recovery and Total Recovery) for basketball players throughout three periods of the competition would be significant or not. The second purpose was to check the significant differences between male and female of all above variables (Independent sample T – Test was used to consider the significance). This study‘s result showed the significant changes throughout three periods of competition phases on Stress state: Total Stress, General Stress, Sport – Specific Stress (Time point 2 has the highest score of stress, then Time point 1 and the lowest score was on T3). Other finding was the significant changes on General Stress between Time point 1 and Time point 3 (Time point 1 showed the higher score than Time point 3). The result of present study also showed the significant changes on Total Stress, General Stress, and Sport - Specific Stress between Time point 2 and Time point 3. With the results of Independent sample t – Test, there were insignificant differences between male and female athletes in this study. Another finding of this study was various frequency levels of response to the physical, emotional or social dimensions of the stress-recovery factor, several recovery and stress factors (i.e., Physical complaints, Physical Recovery, Disturb Break, Fatigue, Sleep Quality, and Fitness/Being in shape) affected by the competition. |
