摘要: Badminton is one of the most popular sports in the world and common in universities. Smash is one of the typical techniques and frequently used during a badminton game.
Purpose: Compare and analyze the differences of the kinematics variables on the upper extremities of the collegiate male and female player when they were performing smash. Methods: Eight male and eight female students participated in this study. Eleven high-speed cameras sampling at a frame rate of 120 Hz were used to record motion. A t-test was used to compare and differentiate the two groups of players. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 18.0 method. Results: The male subject achieved higher speed of racket than the female subject. There was significant differences between two groups of peak wrist velocity, between two groups of wrist extension angle, between two groups of shoulder abduction. The results obtained indicated that the movement of wrist joint was were anticipated to be the most significant for the players to perform a rapid smash followed by the contribution of the elbow joint and shoulder joint. Conclusions: There was not many difference between the two groups. Besides that, we found the hand motions velocity of the subject followed wrist > elbow>shoulder. It followed the rule of kinetic chain.
