This thesis is a discussion of Cheng, Ching-Yi’s creation, with the main content to describe the discussion on her creation and the background of effect up to one year. Each illustration behind the creation can be said to reflect her all different imaginary stories, mood changes or life experience, as well as irony to current events. As for the use of mediums, the alcoholic marker as the spindle of creative expression, plus implanting such element as a large number of Zentagle style and interlaced black and white lines, depict the pictures of Zentagle illustration work. The author, by Zentagle painting reaches the mood and feeling of things, and inner catharsis and ridicule, and therefore no arrests in the past restrictions of academic painting style received, but turns into free and casual direction of painting. The “people” in contact with “people” in the modern society is too complex, as Japanese writer Dazai Osamu in his work No Longer Human (Ningen Shikkaku) had expressed the state of ”impermanent reaction of the world”. Of course, without exception, in real life the author is always afraid to tell the negative truth; anything or the inner dark side is always suppressed and unable to properly express, sometimes will begin to have anxious mood because of some personal factors. To be able to show her subjective thinking of painting, the author in this series of works uses Zentagle element, which makes us feel relaxed and slow down light anxiety, as the form of self-creation painting.
This thesis is divided into the following chapters:
Chapter I: Introduction. Description of the research theme of the thesis, introduction of creation mediums, elements used and presentation of painting style, as well as statement of self-creation mentality and experimental architecture, and research methods.
Chapter II: Discussion on the literatures, description of the characters influencing the author’s creation, as well as self-creative style and its establishment.
Chapter III: Analysis of self-creation, explanation of creative themes and self-upbringing background, as well as creative process by choosing mediums.
Chapter IV: Detailed description of the contents of each work, and the concept of the composition of the picture.
Chapter V: Description of the purpose of this creation which has been reached, and the feasibility of future development.
