Ещё в 20-е годы ХХ века Борис Эйхенбаум в статье о современной русской литературе писал, что традиционный роман с психологическим героем невозможен, так как люди остались без биографий – личное заменено общественным, социальным.В романах двух современников -- Андрея Битова и Владимира Маканина романный герой – социальный маргинал, он «децентрируется», «распыляется», двоится, троится, «четверится»… Текст романа есть, но есть ли его герой?
