Abstract:	This article covers the key trends of development of the Russian war prose of the middle XX century in social and literature context. As the key issues of study of the war writers the following are defined: specifics of the literature process of the middle XX century, finding the stages of war literature development, study of problematic and topical aspect and individual writing style of Konstantin Vorobyov and Yury Bondarev, character's problem, author's position. This article analyzes some works of Russian literature about war and sets directions for their study.
