本文就古文獻學的學科內涵、定位及研究內容等談一些粗淺的看法，包括以下八大方面的問題：1、「中國古典文獻學」和「歷史文獻學」這兩個二級學科應該合併。2、古文獻學的學科內涵和研究內容應予明確。3、作為二級學科的古文獻學，應該包括目錄學、版本學、校勘學、辨偽學、輯佚學、編纂學、典藏學、出土文獻學等三級學科。4、將古文獻學與圖書館學、情報學等學科歸在一起，不利於古文獻學的發展。5、不宜將古文獻學與現代文獻學打通。6、應加強對古文獻學理論的總結與研究。7、應加強古文獻學自身的學科理論建設。8、應加強對近現代（20世紀）古文獻學研究史的總結與研究。
There are some thoughts about the connotation、location and its research contents of Philology in this article, which includes the following eight questions: (1)The Chinese Classical Philology and The Historical Philology should be combined. (2)The connotation and the research contents of The Classical Philology should be given a clear expression. (3)As a kind of secondary disciplines, The Classical Philology should include such tertiary subjects as Bibliography、Edition、Textual Criticism、The Gathering of Scattered Writings、Compilation、 The Excavated Documents. (4)It's not favorable for The Classical Philology's development to incorporate it with The Library Science and The Information Science. (5)It's not suitable to link The Classical and The Modern Philology together. (6)It's essential to strengthen the summary and research of The Classical Philology. (7)It's necessary to emphasize the theory construction of this discipline. (8)It's essential to strengthen the conclusion and study of the research history of The Recent and Modern Classical Philology.
