摘要: | 流傳在中國的許多笑話和趣事,往往淵源自佛經,其原始形態乃理事兼賅的敘述方式。隨著佛教的傳入與經典的翻譯,各種影響於焉開展。就佛家思想、經典或故事在民間的傳播而言,理事(故事)兼賅者有之,取理捨事者有之,取事捨理者有之,融理入事者有之。笑話、趣事的流傳,以「取事捨理」為最常見,甚至也有只取故事的基本架構而重新另造新事者,佛經、佛理的成份已全然消失。本文試以「不識鏡中人」故事為例,觀察此一現象的淵源與流變。
