Myth, the word originated from the West, yet the Chinese had it for long. There might not such a term, but going through the content of traditional Chinese literature, fragments and concepts involving higher-up and ghost, monster and devil are countless; ”myth” exists. Chinese Mythology might not develop as thoroughly, it has enriched Chinese literature in depth. Dr. Yu Kwang-chung's modern poem, integrated with classic and artistic significance, elaborated upon poetic metamorphosis and personification; therefore, has given new life to the origins and characters of the myth. Selected from Dr. Yu Kwang-chung's poems, titled after certain myth, or based upon the certain myth, this study will start from examination of the poetic metamorphosis, and discuss the vulnerability and fragility of such a myth. Moreover, through the hero who went break-away, redeemed, or rebelled to the authority, this paper will demonstrate the transformation on the meanings of hero. Also, by the myth, it illustrates today's environmental consciousness. Dr. Yu Kwang-chung wrote the myth, transformed the myth, yet questioned the myth; in the mean time, left immense space for one to discuss and ruminate.
