In the development of Taiwan literature, the literary landscapes of Taipei have been plural and unique. This paper discusses the literary landscapes of Taipei which topic had written through prose or novels. Through different ways of writing about the city and different forms of the region-story from different periods, this paper observes how those works tell us about the nature of urban life. On the other hand, what is more concerned are the discussions on how spatial divisions are established, and how the changing periods, the historical memory, the spirit of a place and the modernity are being conveyed. In fact, urban literature is a process of signification which connects literature with geography. Those writings not only describe these regions but also help to invent these places. Therefore, this paper will finally go beyond the simple classification which regard literature and geography as different concepts (one imaginative and one factual) and further combine and present both 'worldliness of literary texts and the imaginativeness of geographical texts'.
