The creative material of Chang Hsiao-feng’s short fiction "Human Linkwork" is obtained from "Hsu Yen’s Cage", which explores the motif of unfaithful love affair of human "passion" and "lust." The archetype of this series of fictions can even be traced back to anecdotal novel texts like "Fan Zhi’s Spewing a Pot" and "The Taoist’s Magic." This essay aims to inspect and do a research on the re-creation of the motif of unfaithful love affair in Chang Hsiao-feng’s "Human Linkwork", and probe into perspectives from different dynasties and authors with narrative framework to analyze the archetype of unfaithful love affair story. What had been deleted and added by the authors during the passing of the information, what is the value and literary and artificial achievement of Chang Hsiao-feng’s "Human Linkwork".
