    摘要: 利用個人電腦爲基礎的電子化出版是目前資訊業推廣辦公室自動化的最主要課題之一:在此趨勢下,傳統的印刷是被迫走上式微之道還是將以分庭抗禮之態與桌上出版系統共存?本文旨在以電子出版的系統架構爲探討主體,剖析電子化出版一方面可以形成一種獨特的出版方式;一方面也可以加入全面電腦化的傳統改良式印刷體系,成爲平面傳播系統中最重要的一環,與印刷的主流相輔相成。
    Electronic publishing is one of the major issues in both modern graphic communications technologies and information science industries. Most elelctronic publishing systems are based on a PC plateform with its easy operation and inexpensive cost advantages. It becomes very popular nowaday. Will EPS grab the printing market and srike out convevtional printing processes? Will EPS become the major trend of the publishing fields?
    This study explored the theoretical structures of various EPS systems on the technologies and theories aspects from different point of views. After evaluations and disscussions, the study found out that EPS could be a very useful tool not only in office automation enviorment but also in many publishing quality works market obviously. Instead of being confront, EPS is a very important part of integrated computer aided publishing systems. It works as terminal workstation, and works for both text and imges. By playing an active role, EPS is going to improve the capability and productivity of graphic communication industries.
