As a resident of Taiwan, people should be aware of Taiwanese events. The architecture of Taiwanese aborigines, their homes and settlement pattern reflect not only their language, culture, environment, bat the multiplexity of the social system. Though a treasury in terms of architecture, little has been mentioned.
The motive for this article is to compare, from climate aspects and through exploration into the thermal environment, 33 aboriginal architecture in order to come up with the correlations between architecture and climate.
This article is divided into five sections, the content of each being:
Section 1: To explore the feasibility of this article so as to ascertain the research motive and purposes.
Section 2: To establish basic information on temperature, rainfall, relative humidity, and sunshine for the purpose of facilitating understanding and the research.
Section 3: To establish basic information on aboriginal architecture in Taiwan.
Section 4: To assess thermal environment properties of Taiwanese aboriginal architecture from the aspects of 1) thermal content, and 2) thermal load.
Section 5: To examine through thermal environment assessment the correlation between ”aboriginal building” and ”climate”.
