The cotton fabrics were at first treated with antimicrobial agent and then finishing with polymeric perfluorinated compound made multiple functions for cotton fabrics. The effect of concentration of agent and curring temperatare and time on antimicrobial and physical properties were extensively studied.
Based on the experimental results, the higher pH value, the less effectivenesses of antimicrobe will be. The water & oil repellent increased with concentration of perfluorinated compound and curring temperature and time, but antimicrobe and strength of treated fabrics were the reversal results. The wash or dry cleaning processes would slightly decrease antimicrobial function, but had no obvious effect on water & oil repellent properties.
