Abstract:	MPAG-1編碼與解碼技術已經被廣泛的應用在數位視訊與音訊產品[1]，VCD(Video Compact Disc)之規格由Philips, JVC, Matsushita及Sony於1993年共同制定[2]，其格式爲在一片12公分的CD碟片中儲存74分鐘、全螢幕之動態影像，而大量的影像資料必須先以MPEG-1的規格壓縮後才再存錄於Video CD碟片中。在播放時需將原存錄於CD片上之資料解壓縮。本研究討論Video CD播放機之MPEG-1解碼電路之硬體設計，其系統符合VCD 2.0之規範。整個設計包含視訊介面、音訊介面、CD介面，與記憶趙介面，此一設計涵蓋介面技術與高速數位電路設計之問題，包括硬體電路之實現、印刷電路板的佈線與系統測試，此些問題在本研究中均已克服，且完成之電路系統通過功能測試工，整個VCD播放機之視訊與音訊品質達到今人滿意之結果。 This paper utilizes CL480 MPEG-1 decoder IC to design hardware circuit for Video CD player. The MPEG-1 decoder board design includes memory interface, video interface, audio interface, and CD interface. The system is implemented and tested in the laboratory and the performance of video quality as well as audio quality are as good as VHS Video cassette player.
