應用基因組、完整的系譜與全部的性能作為遺傳評估,改良動物經濟性能,已被認為是現今動物育種最先進的策略。本研究為一三年期計畫,本計畫之目的在針對已初步篩選出的標誌基因組,研發成基因晶片,發展結合基因組與表型資料的遺傳評估方法,並應用這些晶片檢測純種豬群,驗證基因晶片之效應,作為應用基因晶片技術遺傳改進豬隻屠體及肉質性狀方法的依據。
Use of full pedigree, phenotypic data and genomic information for genetic evaluation and selection may increase rate of genetic gain and is the state to the art modern swine breeding strategy. This is a 3 years project, the main purposes are to develop a genetic chip which composed a number of functional genes to increase carcass performance and meat quality traits in pigs. In the first year, a number of genes that detected from the previous studies are selected to develop the genetic chip. In the second year, genetic evaluation method incorporated molecular information and phenotypic data will develop. Finally, the platform of detection is develop and used in a commercial pig farm to test the accuracy and performance of the genetic chip.
