Abstract: This thesis explores the influence of different lighting color on human time perception. There are two methodologies in this thesis; the first one is to conduct color in time perception experiments and the second one is to develop an LED control system based on the experimental result. Through the exploration of color in time perception, this thesis tries to discover the benefit from using different lighting color in daily activities. The benefit shown by taking the advantage of lighting color that gives a faster time perception for unwanted activity and slower time perception for preferred activity. In order to implement the experimental result, this thesis also develops a mobile application based on the Android operating system to control LED lighting. The application designed as a context-aware system. The context-aware appear as time, activity, and location awareness function within the application. As a result, the application can control LED light to emit certain color that suitable for user’s activity based on their current schedule and location. This thesis contributes comprehensive Time Perception in Color experiment methodology that able to deliver satisfactory results and build a context-aware LED control system based on the experimental result.
