摘要: | 科技的進步使得人類平均壽命不斷的延長,高齡時代的來臨,臺灣女性平均壽命83歲高於男性平均壽命76歲;又女性平均初婚年齡與生育年齡逐年提昇,少子女化已為趨勢,在諸多社會結構的改變下,女性少了對子女的情感連結,對傳統女性的生活形態勢必受到影響,女性生活與精神壓力可能增加,因此本研究旨在探討,女性以往對家人的情感連結是否轉為對友伴關係的需求增強?而參與讀書會是否有助於友伴關係的建立,把從前對家人關係轉而對友伴關係的連結?成年女性參與讀書會活動後對其家人、家庭、婚姻以及個人生命意義有何影響與相關?
本研究採質性研究以訪談、觀察和文獻研讀方式歸納整理成年女性參與讀書會與其心智成長之相關,研究對象為具有多年參與讀書會經驗之成年女性,以臺北市故事協會讀書會資深帶領人與歷屆理事長2人、社區大學讀書會資深帶領人1人、萬能讀書會參與成員2人、榮獲臺北市學習型城市讀書會楷模之讀書會成員1人等6人為個人深入訪談對象;並以洪健全基金會旗下之素質友會讀書會團體為焦點團體訪談對象。
研究結果為(1)讀書會的共學模式必須建立討論、對話與分享的機制。成年女性經由參與讀書會的學習(2)養成了思考與探索,漸進的改變了心智模式,繼而影響婚姻、親子與家人關係朝正向互動發展,(3)提昇個人生活品質,(4)建立自信心及重新看待自我生命意義。研究結果提供讀書會團體和讀書會參與者,為經營讀書會或個人參與讀書會心態建立之參考,期能提昇全民閱讀風氣、改善生活品質,更盼藉由讀書會的參與,達到成功老化、健康老化、活躍老年的理想。
The improvement of the technology has extended people’s average life spans constantly. The coming of an aging generation has become a fact that cannot be underestimated. Taiwanese women’s average life expectancy has been extended to 83 years old, which is higher than men’s one that shows 76 years old. In addition, the phenomenon of the decreasing birth rate has become an emerging trend because of the increasing women’s mean age at marriage and child bearing in the recent years. Under many changes of social structures, women lack more and more affective connections with their children. This situation will definitely cause a great impact on the life styles among traditional women and also increase their mental stress of daily lives at the same time. Therefore, this study aimed to (a) explore the question: Will women’s affective connections with their family in the past be strengthened and changed to their friendship in the present? and (b) investigate how adult women’s participation in book club activities influent their family members, family, marriage, and the meanings of their lives.
The data of this study were analyzed with a qualitative approach by interviews, observations, and literature reviews to examine the relationship between the adult women’s participation in the book club activities and their intelligent growth. The participants were all adult women who had a great deal of experience in participating in the book clubs for numerous years. Of the total six participants who were categorized as the in-depth interviewees, two were the senior leaders and the presidents in all previous sessions at Taipei Storytelling Association, one was the senior leader at the Community College, two were the book club members at Vanung University, and the other one was the participant who has awarded as a model of Learning City Book Club in Taipei. Moreover, group members in the book club enrolled in the Hong’s Foundation for Education and Culture were categorized as the focus group interviewees.
The results of the study are summarized as follows. First, the simultaneous mode of the book club must be established by discussing, having conversations, and sharing ideas/opinions with other members. Second, by learning through the participation in the book clubs, the adult women would get in the habits of thinking and exploring so that gradually change their intelligent mode, and then influent their marriage, parent-child, and family relationships that lead to a positive and interactive development. Third, it makes the adult women improve their individual quality of life. Lastly, it helps the participants build up their confidence as well as re-examine the meanings of their lives. Several implications for the participation and groups of book club were suggested based on the study, such as the references for the management of a book club or the development on the mentality of an individual participation in a book club. It is hoped that through this study, more attention can be drawn to promote nationwide reading trend, improve the quality of life, and achieve a goal of active and healthy aging by participating in the book club activities. |
