With the development of dance in Taiwan, classical Chinese Dance competition is not just an activity; it also has an influence on the dance ecology, dance education, and the relation between dance and social culture in Taiwan. In the early days, the competition was sponsored by the government. Therefore it has certain authority, and then becomes a way to assess the dance education of school. It also helps effectively promote dance in Taiwan, and set the trend of dance competition.

With the change of time, the objectives of classical Chinese dance competition changes as well. The dance competition once held by Ministry of Education is now hosted annually by the local governments of each city. In recent years, the number of participating groups and people is declining. In order to better understand the participation motivation and satisfaction of the dance competition participants’, their enthusiasm for dancing, and their inclination to participate in future competition, a survey has been conducted on the dance schools in Banqiao, Sanchong, and Shulin District where more active participants take part in the National Student Dance Competition. The analysis and results will be provided for relative institutions for future reference.
