The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between intrinsic motivations and flow experience for the golf vacationers, and examine the role of involvement as a moderating factor. The convenience sampling was selected from Shing-Fu, Lin-Kou, Taipei and Taoyuan golf courses. Three hundred and fifty participants filled in the sur-vey questionnaire. Excluding the sample who did not fit in the population of this study, a valid sample size of 312(89,1%) was obtained. The results are summarized as follows.
.The dimensions of intrinsic motivation and flow experience were positively corre-lated.
.The dimensions of involvement were positively correlated with intrinsic motivation and flow experience.
.The difference tests between respondents’ profile and intrinsic motivation, involve-ment and flow, the education level, annual house hold income, and occupation dif-ference showed the most significant influences.
.Different golf experience, previous golf vacation type and trip arrangement showed significant effects on both intrinsic motivation and flow dimensions.
.The golf vacationers’ intrinsic motivation could affect their flow experience posi-tively.
.The golf vacationers’ level of psychological involvement acted a moderating factor to intensify the relationship between intrinsic motivation and flow experience.
