The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship of residents’ community attachment and tourism development attitude. Networks, participations, sentiment at-tachments were considered as the main factors of community attachment. The attitude of the residents regarding the impacts of economic, social-culture and environment were investigated. Based on these points, we evaluated the resident’s attitude of welcoming or unenthusiastic about the tourism development. Questionnaires were mailed to the residents who lived in San-sia Town. The initial results of this study were achieved as follows: The residents’ community attachments were mainly affected by the “networks” factor. The major impact of tourism development was considered to be economic. Most of the residents held a positive attitude on tourism development. The higher the com-munity attachment of the residents, the attitudes of them toward tourism development were more positive.
