Abstract:	幻想可說是一種超自然的感覺，在觀賞丹尼爾韋氏的藝術作品時，藝術家和觀看者之間會自然形成一種具體的「對話」實體，這個實體蘊藏著藝術家個人的思想、喜好、能量及特質，以其具有特殊個人特色的表現手法創作出具有雙重特色的圖畫是值得讚賞與肯定的，由於畫面所呈現出的內容既輕巧又充滿了一股熱情的氛圍，極饒富撫慰人心的精神和能量。丹尼爾韋氏使用筆刷去捕捉幅射光線的效果和浩瀚的空間，畫作中的精緻立體結構及鮮明的飽和幻化色彩，有著煉金術士的沉著意境，即是那詭譎的矛盾、神秘之訊息，而這些元素均奠定在超自然的現象中。由於丹尼爾的畫作富有陶醉的極致迷幻，進而呈現出不安定的刺激效果，使其畫作所傳達的形式無法被歸納。因丹尼爾的每張畫作，都有著神祕的世界及散發出能量、動態的視覺震撼力，讓觀賞者的好奇心不知不覺地也滲透融入於在這些圖像中，並拉進這魔幻世界裡去自由地探索著那巧妙的寓境。 Fantasy is kind of supernatural feeling. When appreciating the artworks of Daniel Merriam, the entity of a “dialogue” is naturally established between the artist and the viewer. The entity contains the artist’s personal thought, fondness, energy and characteristics. His performance practice with unique personal characteristics can create an art with double features, which is very commendable and highly recognized by the viewer. Because the painting displays a simple theme but full of passionate, it possesses the spirit and energy which can comfort people’s soul. Daniel Merriam can catch the effect of radiant light and vast space with his brushes. The delicate three-dimensional structure, bright, saturated and fantasy color in his paintings present the steady artistic feature as an Alchemist, releasing a kind of contradicted, weird and mysterious information. All of these elements are the bases of supernatural phenomenon. Because Daniel Merriam’s artworks possess extreme fantasy, furthermore, they indicate an effect of uneasy stimulation, which makes the style of his artworks unable to be classified. Each piece of his artwork contains mysterious world, radiated energy, dynamic visual shock. The viewer are indulged in these paintings subconsciously, and dragged into the magic world to explore the ingenious meaning and the artistic conception.
