People have experienced the malfunction of Emergency Lighting System during power outage. The light may not be on, too dim or just on with very short period. It causes severe impact to life rescure while earthquake or fire accident happen.
As the altitude of high-riser is getting higher, the area of Emergency Lighting System has to cover is getting bigger. Since Lighting System is usually installed inside the rooms or at stair hall, the maintenance task for each node is a huge effort and the period of regular check is then getting longer.
This article intends improve the reliability of lighting system to satisfy the requirement at residential and public area by introducing an Intelligent Multifunction Emergency Lighting System which integrates ZigBee based Wireless Sensor Network and traditional Emergency Lighting System.
