This thesis reviews the works of Schumann’s Op.2 “Papillons” and Op.15 “Kinderszenen”, for the sake of research convenience,
I divide them into five chapters.
In the first chapter the author starts with the motivations, objectives, scope of research and methodology of the thesis.
The second chapter provides the historical background, and deals with the characteristics and styles of Op.2 “Papillons” and Op.15 “Kinderszenen”.
The following two chapters (chapter 3 and 4) focus on exploring music structural analysis and material mobilization of these two pieces of works. Furthermore, the in-depth research would shed more light on of performance interpretation and technical side of these two pieces of works.
The final chapter concludes all the elements which have been discussed in this study. The elements listed by order are historical background, styles, musical analysis, performance interpretation and technical side of Schumann’s Op.2 “Papillons” and Op.15 “Kinderszenen”.
