Stone Lock Training is one of an important traditional physical training method of Chinese Martial Arts. However, this traditional physical training method is fading away because of the rapid development of modern physical training equipment and technology. The preservation and further development of this traditional culture is therefore vital and necessary.
This study reviewed the related literature and interviewed the masters of Chinese Martial Arts in attempt to re-portrait and to reconstruct the shape and the original training procedure. The modern scientific methods and principles of periodization training were implied to rebuild a training model base on the physiological and biomechanical characteristics of the Stone Lock training. It is expected that the preservation of this traditional martial art can be facilitated and stimulated.
