In this study, PET flame retarded hollow 3D crimp fiber was processed by nonwoven manufacture technology to prepare the flame retarded PET nonwoven loose-filled thermal insulation material. In the process, the weight ratio of PET low melting fiber (10、20、30、40、50 %) and the layers of loosed nonwoven (1、2、3、4、5 layers) in the combination of thermal pressing process were changed to estimate the tensile strength, thermal conductivity and limiting oxygen index. The physical properties, thermal conductivities and the properties of flame retard were evaluated. The purposes of this study are development of manufacturing process for a convenient installation of thermal insulation material and improving the application of fiber material in the thermal insulation.
