In this study, multi-layers fibrous mats that contained by high strength Nylon 6 staple fiber and low melted polyester fiber have be reinforced by needle punching and thermal bonding to formed a needle punching nonwoven. The effects of the thermal bonding parameters for the stab resistance and the mechanical characteristics of the needle punching nonwoven have be investigated. The results show that when the thermal bonding temperature is 180℃and the liner velocity of the roller is 0.5m/min, the nonwoven has better tensile strength and stab resistance. When the thermal bonding temperature is higher than 160℃, the heat concentrate of the nonwoven leads to the increased of the density. The stab resistance increased with the increased of the density.
