    Abstract: 少數民族議題已是國際輿論趨勢,關注少數又弱勢民族更是全球各領域學者必須肩負探究的責任。台灣原住民族在世界南島民族發展史上佔有舉足輕重之地位,但是其下一代也面臨到前所未有的考驗與歷練。尤其是原住民青少年母語使用、學習以及延續等問題,皆是影響著台灣南島民族永續之關鍵。本文以台灣北部某技術學院1643名原住民青少年爲研究對象,透過其母語使用場域、母語流利程度與居住地以及父執輩們聯姻情形等之關連,試著解讀目前台灣原住民青少年面臨到的母語處境。
    The discussion of issue on minority tribes has emerged as an international trend. In addition, scholars in various fields around the world are required to shoulder the responsibility for paying attention to and making research into minority and powerless tribes. The Taiwanese indigenous play a substantial and important role in the history of the development of the world southern islands tribes. However, its next generation is currently faced with test and trial that have never been seen previously. In particular, the using, learning and continuance by the Taiwanese indigenous youth of their mother tongue serve as the key to the sustainable development of the Taiwanese southern island tribes. This study surveys 1,643 indigenous young persons of certain institute of technology in the north area. By further looking into related factors, including the field they use their mother tongue, the fluency of their mother tongue, the place where they live and the marriage of their seniorities, this study attempts to interpret the circumstance the Taiwanese indigenous youth is faced with in connection with their mother tongue.
