It is well known that bank to turn steering in more attractive than skid to turn steering. However, most autopilots proposed to date rely on linear model. These linear approaches restrict their applicability to either small or slowly varying roll. The unmodelled effects of severe nonlinearities inherent in the missile dynamics, still remain one of the most critical issue for autopilot design. In this paper, the nix-degree of freedom nonlinear dynamic model, which takes full account of kinematics, inertia and aerodynamic cross-coupling is derived for asymmetric missile airframes.
