Most critics' impression and evaluation of Long Ying-Tai's intellectual prose usually focus on her powerful social criticism, convincing argument and sincere discourse which characterize her as a unique writer different from most of her counterparts. The reading public generally regards her as a poignant social and cultural critic but not a woman writer of rhetoric excellence. In fact when we approach her work, our chief concern should lie not only in content but also in form, especially the rhetorical skill. This paper analyzes her skill of writing strategy in prose from 1985-2000 as reflected in her choices of topic title, usage of parallelism and figures of speech.
