In the past few years, the topic of cross-culture instruction in foreign language teaching has taken a substantial research agenda. How to build the cross-culture capability to enhance and strengthen both teaching and learning becomes an obvious challenge for teachers and students. In order to build the cross-culture capability, this paper attempts to introduce schema theory and combine it with production rules to structure cross-culture schema. The functions of cross-culture schema will be expected to help students to learn German easily. For the purpose of analysis, there are five parts in this paper. Part 1 offers a general introduction to the study about the acquisition of cross-culture capability. Part 2 deals with literature review about schema theory, cross-culture, and schema formation. Part 3 presents key theoretical aspects of cross-culture schema. Part 4 designs an empirical experimental framework, and uses this framework to check cross-culture schema formation. Part 5 provides conclusions and suggestions.
