    Abstract: 本論文是以研究繪畫十九世紀末到二十世紀末的服裝變化為出發,探討時代精神與服裝所結合的美感,或是流行較高的傳達。以此作為創作的研究起點,首先初探時尚流行風格,介紹何謂時尚以及介紹藝術與時尚兩者有相關的作品。其次論述20世紀以來西方的服裝時代特點,分成六個階段,對不同階段的時裝風格進行討論,接著對陳進「化妝」畫作之服裝進行討論,據此作為本創作的研究依據。在創作上則以女性服飾的視覺表現與其內在性格或環境而誘發之情緒、情感之互動關係,呈現出女性在文明世界中的處境,與其不為人之的心理反應。
    This paper studies and illustrates the changes in fashion trends in the period from late 19th Century to late 20th Century. Also, the paper delves into the aesthetic incorporation of the spirit of the times into fashion apparel or the higher expression of fashion trends. The foregoing serves as the starting point of the creative study. First, the study preliminarily explores the fashion style of the times; that is, an introduction of what was regarded as fashionable and an introduction of works related to art and fashion. Next, the paper expounds on the special features of the Western fashion in six stages starting from the 20th Century to date. Then, the paper discussed Chen Chin’s Make Up painting, focusing on the apparel fashion depicted in the painting, which served as the basis of the creative work. The creative piece unveils the plight of women in the civilized society and their unrevealed psychological responses to the world around them through the interactive relationship between the visual expression of women’s apparel and the sentiments and emotions aroused by the women’s inner personality or environment.
