This study is themed on the grassland ecological environment of a particular region. It expounds on the factors behind the selection of grass as the study subject, as well as the motives and objectives of the study. It also explains the scope of the study and methods employed to compile data for the study of grass. First, the study conducted an analytical study of the phenomena involved in the growth and development of the diversity of vegetation in the Chingtienkang Grassland natural ecology. Through the grassland landscape and geographical analysis, illustrations were presented to connect art with atmospheric science. The study also presented the artistic interpretations and works of past landscape artists depicting slope grass to explain the different techniques employed and contents of works themed on grass, slope grass, and grassland. The compilation of works aimed to manifest the evolution of Chinese ink painting technique through the ages.

Advances in technology not only changed heights in perspectives but also affected the angles from which we view grass, cultural evolution, and metamorphosis of sentiments. The study views grass portrayal styles and express the essence of grass through the aesthetic perspectives of landscape art to manifest the beauty of the theme object “grass”. Through the brush strokes of an experienced hand, ink expressions of grass turned the subject to a personal artistic language expressing the artist’s inner artistic impressions of an impartial environment. The series of grass paintings is a new venture and experience of mine in artistic expression. The ultimate objective of this artistic study is to grasp the overall connective effect of the lines of swaying and undulating grass.
