本研究主要以台灣電子業廠商為主體,來探討企業的國際化因素為何。首先在本文中我們以資源效應為主軸,並且使用研發與行銷等兩項資源,用以克服新興經濟體在國際化的過程中所常見之障礙。研究資料年份由2002至2007年台灣電子企業之5,092筆樣本數,試圖研究擁有此項資源的企業是否會正向影響其國際化。除此之外,我們假設集團效應對其企業之國際化有其正向促進之效果。最後本研究也將外部股權納入研究主體,試圖了解外部股權之資源,在企業國際化過程中所扮演之角色。
This paper investigates the factors leading to multinationality of Taiwanese information technology services firms. The paper proposes that resource-bases of R&D and marketing expenditure serve as two unique mechanisms to overcome the internationalization barriers common to emerging economy firms. Using panel data on 5,092 firms from 2002 to 2007, we try to find whether outward internationalization is enabled by firms possessing such resources. Further, we predict that affiliation to business groups constitute an activator and stimulate emerging economy firms’ internationalization efforts; lastly, we treat external stock ownership as moderators to investigate their roles on resource endowment to internationalization.
