    Abstract: The article cites a survey of nursing executives concerning the availability of holistic nursing care for hospitalized patients conducted at hospitals in Taiwan. According to the survey, only 40% of hospitals had any facilities for religious service and only 4% employed recruited volunteers to provide religious support. It is determined that only 20% of hospitals offered rooms for special ceremonies frequently used for rituals after patient death.
