鑒於國際關係理論的紛紜眾說實爲結構化過程裡的不同成分，因而希望能藉助一種國際關係結構來予以釐清；其作法是透過符號學方法，以逐步建構一張國際關係結構圖：第一步是確認做爲國際關係特殊符碼的「邊界間性」，第二步就倫理關係與價值關係建立一個十字軸，第三步基於十字軸結合起特殊符碼和非特殊符碼，而建構出五個層次的結構圖－文化核心、權力要素、國內政治、邊界要素、天下，並對每一個軸向和每一層結構都做進一步的二項式規劃。希望能透過或借助這樣的結構圖，認識到不同國際關係理論在其建構、結構與解構過程中的形式、位階與意義。
Supposing that all theories of international relations are only different parts in the process of「structuralisation」on international relations, we will use semiology to try to construct, step by step, a structural chart of international relations: By firstly recognizing the「interfrontierality」as a specific code of international relations, we will then construct an axis between the two binary groups in the domain of ethics and values. With help in specific codes and non-specific code we can distinguish five steps: the cultural core, the elements of power, politics of domestic affairs, boundary elements, and Tianxia. Each lever consists of four sub-binaries. Finally, we will determine within the structural chart the exact form, position and meaning of each different theory during the process of construction, structure and deconstruction.
