Color and form are two basic elements in art and design. Both of them affect the semantic meaning by some combinations. Although Kandinsky and others postulated a fundamental correspondence between color and form, but there is no empirical evidence support these hypothesis so far. To exploring the color-form interaction effect on semantic judgment, this study tried to manipulate variant combinations of color and form orthogonally, and measure the semantic judgment by semantic differential scales. We found that these results can clarify that color-form assignments, and provide new insight for further research and application in related field.
